
Sydenham Entitlement
The Sydenham School Entitlement ensures that all students have a rich and diverse learning experience beyond the classroom. Opportunities for all students will enable them to build ambition and aspiration, engagement and a sense of belonging as well as respect for others and an ability to see themselves as a global citizen. This includes careers events, development of cultural capital, curriculum and academic enrichment, leadership and volunteering.
By the time they leave Sydenham School all students will have experienced the events below organised and led by the school:
- Have read at least ten books as part of their guided reading
- Taken part in the Sydenham Charter and had the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award
- Been on a theatre, art gallery and museum visit including a pantomime in Year 7
- Taken part in an enrichment activity after school
- Been on a residential trip
- Taken part in numerous employability events and work experience
- Taken part in a performing or visual arts related event
- Taken part in a STEM event
- Been involved in volunteering or fundraising
- Had the opportunity to be involved in leadership
- Been on a university visit
- Taken part in competitive sport
